CRANBROOK EAGLES HOST 2013 GOLDEN GLOVES

CRANBROOK EAGLES 

- 2013 Golden Gloves:  by brian zelley

* Once again the Cranbrook Eagles will be

hosting a major tournament sanctioned by

Boxing BC.  This time it will be one of the

oldest tournaments in BC boxing history 

and that is the Golden Gloves which began

in British Columbia in 1939 in Vancouver.

The two contact folks are coaches

Bill Watson and Tom White.  President

of Boxing BC, the sanctioning body is 

Mickey Sims.  

50 th. Anniversary of the 1963 Golden Gloves:

* Although there is no announced special 

ceremony for alumni of the 1963 Golden Gloves,

the 2013 Golden Gloves in Cranbrook will be

the 50th anniversary of that '63 event and the

Golden Boy was Vancouver boxer Kalman Santosi.
